November 2014 – Week 2

As we were driving to church this week, I kept seeing patches of these black-eyed susans that have lost all their petals.  I love the contrast of the dark flowers against the pale, dying grass.  Of course we had to pull over so I could try to capture the beauty.  This picture doesn’t show exactly how gorgeous it was.  Keep an eye out for the unexpected beauty as you’re driving this fall — it’s stunning!

Isaiah 40:8 - "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."
Isaiah 40:8 –

July 2014 – Week 4

Whew — what a busy week!  We spent most evenings working at the Flip House, and had a “work day” all day Saturday – so there were MANY pics of friends and family helping with demolition, tree trimming, uncovering the disgusting pool, etc.  We were also able to squeeze in some family time this weekend – so, of course, there were several adorable pics of our precious “P”.   However, I decided to share this picture I snapped on our way home from church.  After a week like we had, in the midst of all the busy-ness and craziness of life . . . it’s important to notice and appreciate the beauty all around us.  It doesn’t get much prettier than this!

Psalms 19:1 - "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork."
Psalms 19:1 –
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork.”

July 2014 – Week 2

I can’t express how much this week’s picture warms my heart! After a wonderful family weekend at the beach – floating in the bay, watching the Blue Angels show, and (of course) pigging out our little “P” was exhausted.  Sunday morning at church, she reached out for Pops, settled into his arms, and promptly fell asleep.  He couldn’t hold back the tears, and I can’t hold back the love in my heart for these two!

Psalm 4:8 - "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety."
Psalm 4:8 –
“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.”
